I think we all forget this is a great car, But running costs are sooooo much more than a C5/C6 would be the cost of tyres alone if you do around 5-8k you will be looking at replacements each year. Where a normal C6 would last at least 20-25k. But they still hold their value more by around a £10k to a C6. I would love to own one!
VHR used to get more than that and he isn't exactly known as Miss Daisy. I've done around 8k in mine since I got it last October and still have rubber on mine and I'm not exactly known for hanging about either. That includes 3 trips to Le Mans and week of pressing on along mountain passes.
Think you'll find the wear is usually the inside edge of the rear tyres due to the amount of negative camber. Driving like Miss Daisy and only nailing it on the straight would wear this far more than someone that likes to press on in the twistys and thus wears the rears over their whole width. Much like squaring off a rear motorcycle tyre.

Pretty much most owners I know that's what they are getting out of them. Maybe if someone is driving it like miss daisy and getting more miles out of their rubber boots? After all these are high performance supercars and not the same as a normal C6 ownership.
When I had mine I got through them in less than 6k. (If you drive silly <4k!) I changed tyres at 6k and they had less than 1000 to go but didn't want to go to Leman that year and do the journey back on unsafe tyres. You need as much grip as you can get when driving a Z06. In the wet they are something else...... I know four other Z drives who all changed tyres at under 6k - two of which wrote their Z's off in the rain... (say no more)!Having owned a standard C6 and a new Z06 I agree the C6 is a much cheaper car to run and own. The Z06 really is a megga car but the new LS3 engined C6 is equally fun just not as bonkers.
The sold black car looks good, the seats with red accents looked very appealing. Great price too, even if it was one from the first year of manufacture and will have the not so nice original gear box. At £30k though it was a bargain. Hopefully the new owner is a CCCUK member!

I think you have done very well on those tyres. You needed any brakes yet?

Hello miss Daisey here.
I got 16k out off fronts and12k out of rear .... I don't think running costs are that bad compared to other cars with simpler performance. ferrets and porches cost a hell of a lot more.
Wow! That must be a world record. No idea how you managed that but congrats. Agreed too - F's & P's are a ton of money to service and keep. I got 16k out off fronts and12k out of rear .... Just gone and checked mine. The tyres were nearly new when I picked the car up. Fronts are on 5mm over the whole width. The rears are between 3 and 4.5 mm, oddly the 3mm on each tyre is on the outside not the inside where most report they wear quicker. Im 200 miles shy of 8K so a bit less than I thought.
TBH I rarely floor it through 1st and 2nd unless somebody is annoying me. The ZR1 is still quicker up to around 80/100 or so and sounds better doing it so if i want to blat away from lights etc, thats the car of choice. The Z06 really comes to life in 3rd and particularly 4th, where you really are in warp speed by the time you have to cog 5th.
Kent is 2nd Wednesday Martin, is Surrey on the first Wednesday? if so im not working but we are off to Fame early Thursday morning so might be too much of a rush depending how busy work is. Could do with some extras at Kent though numbers have just been running at the die hard regulars most of the year
whats average life of front/rear pads people have experienced?

20k+ on a set of tyres is not unheard of... depends how you drive it and what tyres you're running. Regular track days will obviously affect tyre life. My OE runflats at the front are down to 3.5mm and have covered 10k miles, so they could probably hang on for another 5k miles before they'd legally need changing (not that I'd recommend leaving it that long... I intend changing them ASAP). My car is also far from stock, so that wear rate seems pretty good to me (esp. for runflats). Not sure why people are saying Z06 running costs are high? If it's a daily driver, I can see the consumables bills mounting-up, but I think they're cheap to run. Even fuel consumption is decent.
One year newer, similar miles but non-EU car. But advertised at almost £9k more!

Was listed for 3 days?! Who ever bought Adrians' car must be smiling from ear to ear!! Come on, who are you? Show your face.

Guess what . It was me.
Not quite as simple as it may appear.
Did nt really want the hassle of selling my SL 55 and Nick Whale gave me a VERY good price for it. Plus I particularly wanted a red Z06 and this is a very clean example, with the spec I wanted.
Not bothered about it being an import, like my C6 it saves me nearly £200 a year road tax.
I agree with comments about Adrian. He bought my blue C6 from me and was a great bloke to deal with.
