Hi Boys and girls,
as I'm getting ready to move back to the US,I was pondering the thought of selling my CTS-V locally before moving back out.
You guys think there's a demand for this car and what price range should I set it at roughly ?
I really like the V and do not mind taking it back with me

PS: If you're curious,it's in the classifieds

You should give exact spec of the car to get accurate answers. I mean at least is it a coupe, a sedan, or a wagon and what year.

Oops- it's the 4D sedan 2004 Model with the LS6 block.

Great car but far too much money! I know it's a V model and a great looking car but you can pick up a fully loaded CTS in right hand drive with all the options for around £5-6k and the new model for circa £15k now.

It's a great engine too but if you look around you can find C5 Z06's for around the £20k mark and the Caddy never holds value like the Vettes do in the UK. I loved my CTS and it's a great car but it was always a small market place for Cadillac's in the £20k area unless they are an Escalade.

I think you would be better selling it back in the States as they will know a lot more about the V series CTS, Also must euro buyers want an Auto not a manual box. But I could be wrong?????

thanks for the reply.I think this car appeals to another segment,like the Panamera type- sporty, yet 4D is mandatory

I don't think we should compare the V to a base CTS,even the new model as this car is
1) quite rate and unique,not many Vs so a slight premium for this
and
2) way more attractive and powerful that 99% 4doors out there

Regarding the transmission, there were no Auto in the CTS-V until 2009- so Europeans customers would have to appreciate the stick biggrin

I honestly love the car and would not mind bringing it back to the States-was just thinking helping Caddy in its European market conquest...

I am actually inclined towards the middle ground of what has been said here. I actually have known of people who were interested in a CTS-V, whether they still are I am unsure. This would suggest that there is a market even if it is a small one. The V Series cars are rather disconnected from the rest of the range as my old 2009 CTS-V Sedan Auto still sold for £38,000 which is the better part of £20,000 more than a 3.6 would have sold for.

On the other hand I would suggest that your pricing is too high. The mileage is not high for the age of the car, but it isn't special either. V Series specific parts are not exactly cheap and as a private seller 'caveat emptor' applies which would make any would be buyer wary of any money that needed spending on the car. If it were in my stock I would be advertising it for £15,990. To be honest, even at £10,000 you'd still be better off selling it here than in the U.S. given the costs of repatriation, re-conversion of lighting, shipping and transport fees.....

good thoughts there-agreed it's a small market but it's only one car,which would need one new enthusiast owner.

Regarding cost,my company is paying to ship my car back and no mods have been done for MOT,so it can be re-titled straight in the US.
Therefore,I do not plan to drop it below £20k - if it does not sell,I'll ship it back and enjoy it back home smile

I am confused. Does that mean your CTS-V isn't registered in the UK? If it is then you would need to modify all your lights back to their original configuration. If it isn't registered here then someone would need to spend a fair bit of money to put it through IVA.

I'm not understanding your thoughts on pricing either as you could pick up a similar car in the US for sub $20,000 which would be less than £12,500........

Mitch-it's registered and no light modification required. Believe me,it's passing MOT like clockwork and has a Tax Disc-all legit smile

Sure,I could get one back in the US, but I know that mine has never been tracked,engine never passed 2500RMP before Oil temp hits 170deg F etc.So if I'm in for the long run(had it for 6 years already) I'd rather keep mine.

I was actually thinking of getting a 2012 CTS-V model when I get back, IF I am able to sell my V at a good price here.
