Just got a quote from MSM Insurance for £6902. eek

Was trying to beat my renewal from Stevenage which is £663 with a 3k mile limit and only for social domestic & pleasure.

Car is a 2004 C5 Z06 with the only performance mods being an exhaust and an intake.

I'm 44, 3 point SP30, +10 year NCB, garaged with a decent postcode.

Think I'll be trying elsewhere. smile

I had this problem last week getting silly prices for a C5 loads more than my c6 use to which was double the value and had mods!

Performance direct made four phone calls and still waiting for a return call.
MCE were just useless.

Ended up with Adrian flux but not that cheap.

Also try Mark Abbott at Cheam and Footman James.

Insurance renewals are a bit mad at the moment. When insuring my Z4M several insurers want a £3k excess (on a £15k car)!

I recently paid about £360 to renew the C5 with AF. These cars can be astoundingly low ££ on tax disc and insurance. smile

If I ever get a new car I reckon I'll have to chop in 2 of the current ones just to break even!!

Got a quote from Frank Pickles for £410, which I'm over the moon with but seeing what some of you guys on here and also what some of the CCCUK guys are paying, I really should try a couple of others to see if I can get it under £400.

Thanks again for your help.

Sounds like your getting there, just to add i was paying £300 for my 01 ZO6 ,I did have to do the phone around thing from one year to another to get that price.

Also we all have different personal info which will affect the quote.
No points,accidents,old,2nd car,post code etc.

I would go with Aviva but they dont insure yanks,i pay peanuts for my black thing with them.
Money saved is petrol in the tank eh.
Cheers and hope you get it sorted biggrin

Dave - Sorry, but Aviva do insure Yanks. I insured my recently acquired (Euro spec) C6 with them. I have (surprisingly?) found them the cheapest for the last 2 years on both my "day car" and my elderly father's car. Their quote on the C6 seemed so good I did not even bother looking elsewhere. Not sure however if they will quote on non Euro spec/non Thatcham compliant Vettes.

Hey great info ,that can only be a good thing mate.
I called them in the past, got right to the end and then they told me oh sorry we dont insure American cars.
So like you say maybe cos it`s a truck or non euro spec.
Will give them another call next time round.
Aviva are outstanding, the mrs 2009 type r £207,i paid £400 for my Lambo.

Of the places that have been recommended, only 2 would quote for my exact model. Footman James was £1019 and Adrian Flux was £590.

So Frank Pickles were the best by quite a way at £410, so they now have another happy customer on their books.

Thanks again.

Lol. I spent Easter weekend of 2011and more doing mine. I know exactly what you mean and your tiles look smaller. Didn't mind the tiling as much as the grouting that followed....

Of course this was done before we thought about getting the Z06. So earlier this year I had to rip up a couple of rows, shove the lift over a bit and then tile again...... Arrghhhh. Now with all 4 toys in the garage you can hardly see the floor any way lol.

Where did you get your check plate from Dave? I got mine from a company in the west country. Pre-cut and folded as I wanted it and shipped for less than some companies quoted just for one flat sheet
