Did they fit an aluminium chassis?

A carbon roof?

I would see the point if it was a ragtop

I saw this yesterday. Looks like they are using the later Spider style Z06 wheels which are an inch smaller all round than a ZR-1 which combined with the small brakes will look ridiculous. I wonder if they are going to fit the carbon splitter and skirts. Will be expensive for an old c6 by the time they have finished if they do.

This is just wrong on so many levels.
What about rear axle, trans, ECU etc. 2005 model has a totally different ECU for a start.
Would seem to me to be easier to buy a ZR1 and sell the 05

I can't help thinking it would have been easier if they had used a Ford focus or something as a donor car !
Less expensive parts to chuck away !! wink

I think the idea here is a cosmetic conversion only... basically, a ZR1 bodykit.

but surely instead of throwing a fortune at a base C6 to make a ZR1 looky-likey, a nice used Z06 would be the way to go?

probably end up costing the same?
