That must be the most useless comparison I have seen for a long time.

Couldn't be bothered to watch it. I'm guessing this is the old road test comparing the quick version of the Jag with the 'slowest' version of the vette at Santapod? .....and shock, horror the Jag won but by less than it should. All the usual clichés yawn yawn yawn.

Did the jag driver get out smoking a pipe and wearing slippers?

Now let's see the fast Jaaaaag run against the fast vette in the form of the ZR1

Not that there's any point whatsoever as the cars are aimed at completely different sectors of the market......

I mean really, when was the last time you spotted a vette driver smoking a pipe and wearing slippers? We all know they're always too busy trying to stop their cheap tacky interior from falling apart whilst wrestling the car around a bend it's never seen before as they don't have them in America, how the hell are they gonna get time to light a pipe.

That is such a CRAP video!!! It was so poorly presented I first thought it was a joke.

It still was when I finished watching it. Rob - go stand at the back for pasting such utter bo77ocks

Check this thread out, so much more interesting. And spot who are driving them..

Well I was interested in seeing the video - Thanks Vet Guru. Interesting that the 0-60 (4.4 sec) and top speed (186mph) are identical, although in the £97K Jag's case I believe this is limited. How do the in-gear acceleration times compare I wonder? Bet the Vette is the winner at the petrol pumps?

The red GS test car (GG GS 402) is the one that Autocar did their short "First Verdict" article on in the 4 January edition as Autocar readers will have seen. Their video below is much more complimentary about the Vette than the article ("Nothing like it for drama, character, charm").

Apart from the big plastic thing smile

Side note: I actually like the car. They just seem to be dangerous in rain and snow.

Yeah I only average 12k miles a year (all year) in mine and mines killed me several times over.....

Hell I drove mine to Bournmouth and back in that ste weather on Easter Monday. Mine killed me at least 20 times on that trip

Think you'll find any rwd car with that kind of power will bite you if you drive it like a tt in poor conditions...

Per Jay Leno in his 3/4/11 article in the Sunday Times on Corvettes:

"My yellow Z06 (1 of his 4 Vettes) is the supercar I take out when I want a blast regardless of the weather. It's a tough car. You can pound over things, you can throw it sideways and you fix it with a hammer. You can beat it up all day long. It's amazing"

"Sometimes when you drive a fancy car people give you the finger. With a Corvette they always give you a thumbs-up because you look like a guy who sort of earned it. It's not a car you got from Daddy."
