Excellent video. They were lucky when they did the Stelvio pass, looks like they virtually had it to themselves, when I did it in 2006 it was packed, may have just been unlucky though.

I noticed that too; if you look when he's out of the car there's a fair bit of traffic but the in car/driving stuff is clear.

I would imagine that they had police assistance as many countries require a police presence for any filming on the road to be carried out.

I agree with Mitch, they didn't appear to be that bothered of stuff coming round at them on the wrong side of the road either. Unless it was very early but again it didn't look like it was. The Stelvio is far from being the best pass to drive in my opinion, there are plenty of nicer drives through the Alps

Stelvio is the road to drive according to all the driving magazines, but to be honest, you are right, there are better. We spend every holiday in northern Italy and there are loads of better roads out there, and because everyone is going for the Stelvio, the others are not as overcrowded.

Some of the best roads are:

Timmelsjoch
Jaufenpass
Rittenpass
Mendelpass

And loads more...

And Umbrail Pass - some of which is unmade but a lot of fun nonetheless. In my opinion the most fun and picturesque in the area, and my gf agreed which is always a bonus.

The good old Aussies can beat that I think. $AUS 350,000 including the obligatory (aftermarket?) RHD conversion and the $AUS 100,000 luxury tax. I make that £220,000.
