Yellow C3 convertible crossing A5199 this afternoon.

It's funny that you should mention that car. My parents are down in London with us this weekend and mentioned that there had been a noisy yellow vette around the village recently (Arnesby).
Was it the crossroads between Bruntingthorpe and Saddington? There's been a few accidents there over the years.

No, it was the staggered junction(s) between Kilby and Foston(?) I was coming away from Leicester, he was joining from my left, the car in front of me turned into the road he was on and he didn't look again just pulled out in front of me. I had just enough time to pull out over the white line and avoid him. Would have made a right mess of me, my bike and his plastic yank tank! Thought he would be almost bound to be a member here with a car like that...
You should post over on http://www.corvetteclub.org.uk - far more chance of someone being on there - not too many C3 guys come on here! - BTW it could be that he is a very recent owner and not used to the C3 coupes blind spot (or any LHD coupe for that matter) - when pulling out and turning left out of a side road at an angle of less than 90 degrees (remember its LHD) the rear offside fastback styled 'C' pillar (more of a buttress really) totally obscures the vision of any vehicle coming from right hand side.

What speed were you doing and what was the speed limit on the road?
Classic post, well done!JFTR, about 45 (as the car in front had slowed to turn into the junction blindman was coming out of) and 60. Sorry to disappoint you.
Rosco, I could clearly see his face and he could see mine, he just wasn't 'looking'.

Then, quite clearly the man is an asshole!JFTR, about 45 (as the car in front had slowed to turn into the junction blindman was coming out of) and 60. Sorry to disappoint you.

Not me mine is in the garage, but as you say it seems to be a real classic problem if you are not used to driving left hookers and that is one of them, easy to do on a roundabout as well.Need to get those joining angles right.

A serious problem at night, when raining and when windows misted-up!Need to get those joining angles right.
I ride bikes and drive fast cars, the attitude is not a problem, it's a self preservation mechanism. Bikes don't present as much of a threat to the subconcious of the driver therefore the driver takes actions that they wouldn't dream of if the bike was a 40 tonne truck bearing down on them. That said, there are dicks on bikes and in cars.

all bikers seem to have this attitude problem, they all seem to hate car drivers for some reason
Not sure where that puts me then (see my profile) Mind you,

biker guy should have waited behind the car, bet he was trying to push his way through the traffic, and they wonder why they knocked down by cars
Oh dear, anti bike alert. Yeah bikes should sit behind queues of cars ffs. Please.....I'm guessing you're one of those that try and narrow the gap to stop bikes from filtering. FYI filtering is legal in the uk.

I have to 100% agree with Gixer about 'anti-biker' speak here. In cars we are fortunate to have some structural steel around and seat belts, air bags, crumple zones to protect us, we can't fall-off a car. The biker has NOTHING to keep him/her safe other than a helmet and possibly some armoured clothing. On a bike you run a high risk of DEATH, if you hit a patch of oil or if a car just slightly nudges you and has 'you off' or if some unobservant driver pulls out of a side turning in front of you. I don't worry in the least how any biker rides close to me - respect - they know the risks they run, I will be unlikely to have serious injuries and only limited damage to my car in an impact with a bike - the biker will be a different story!
corvettedave: what's your real problem with bikers? Did your ex- leave you for one of us or are you just jealous that we get to our destinations quicker than you?
If you care to go back and read the description of what happened you'll realise that your prejudice has caused you to assess it incorrectly.
ETA, not sure why you've even jumped into the debate anyway, is it some kind of knee-jerk 'corvette drivers are saints' reaction?

- I was not filtering
- I was not speeding (not saying I never do, I'm sure you do too)
- I was just to the right of the middle of my lane
- I was a good two seconds back
- I had my headlights on
- My (legal) exhaust is quite loud so he should have heard me coming too.
- I also drive a car. I do not 'hate' car drivers.
