I was looking at importing but with the VAT and duties plus shipping and IVA. The cost seemed as much just to buy one over here. But it would be nice to own one while working in the states and bring it over,

If you own it for more than 6 months and are relocating your home back to the UK after a specific time abroad (something like more than one year, i think), then you should not need to pay VAT and Duty.

Go for the one with the better suspension.
Usually around $5K premium for soft top over coupe for the same year and same bits.

I think you may be able to do a little better on price. Shop around.
Also (assuming you haven't owned one before) once you take off the top in the Coupe you have virtually no trunk. A convertible still has a very usable space with the top down.
I have a coupe should have got a soft top.

Jeff
regrds suspension i am going on Option packs basically 3LT what should i be looking for
Regards pricing i have shopped around and prices are very steady I,m looking at a 2009 with 1400miles on the clock, Glass smoked hard top, LS3 with 3LT option pack for around 40k in Silver, when i bring home in 2 years car will have around 25K miles on, so how much would it be valued at.
I know i will not be able to sell for one year but its nice to know theoretically on paper that bringing it home will have some value against selling it here in the USA.
Cost for shipping around 800$ No VAT etc to pay just have to do the UK conversion and also update the SAT NAV etc

The 09 for 40 sounds good. Is that 1,400 or 14k (either is ok)
This guy is pretty good at East Coast pricing.

You'll have to scroll down for the 6s

I have a base model C6, the suspension is not suited to NJ roads or my driving style.
I'm outing it, partly for that and also to avoid a drop when the C7 appears.

I could get tempted with a C5 soft top as I actually prefer the shape of the C5 and they've dropped in price a lot, or just wait for a 1 year old C7 and line up a good divorce lawyersmile.
