My race team Xero Competition has been racing Corvettes since 2003 and being the Corvette dealer for the UK I am confident we could take of this for you. There aren't too many people with track experience of Corvettes in this country...

I don't want to deny Mitch business, but you could try asking this question on the Classic Corvette Club Forum. You may find someone who can help that is local to you

I fitted a Stoptech kit to mine (C6 Z06), mainly because the originals were fried. I did the work myself, which I preferred for personal reasons (there's only one person I trust!!!). For the Stoptech kit you need to trim the lower wishbone slightly for clearance to the disc. This is described in the fitting instructions. Also the flex hoses as supplied with the kit tended to rub inside the wheel at full lock, so I had some made to my own spec by Earls. You can get the Stoptech kits through Balance Motorsport. Other than the minor installation snagging I cannot fault the quality of the kit. The pads are a standard AP racing pattern, so you can easily get decent stuff like Pagid to fit.

The other commonly used alternative is Brembo. I rejected that choice because the calipers are a monobloc type with integral bridge. This means you have to remove the calipers from the upright to be able to change the pads. The Stoptechs have a removable bridge, so it's easy to swap pads. The Brembos don't need the wishbone trimming but instead a wheel spacer may be required to give room for the caliper. I'm not sure how readily available alternative pads are for the Brembos. No doubt their own pads are good, but probably a pretty price.

I'd did all of the work myself on my C5 Z06.

Some advice:

1. Fit a set of aftermarket swaybars I have the GM T1 set on mine.
2. Don't fit Willwood Brakes as they fit without having to modify stuff but they are crap brakes and don't stop the car!
3. Dismantle all of the suspension and fit Poly Bushes, pig of a job but so worth it.
4. Fit coilover shocks as it transforms the handling of the car I fitted LG Motorsports http://www.lgmotorsports.com/ ones on mine.

Pfadt Racing http://www.pfadtracing.com/catalog/ would be a good place to find parts and Mitch knows what he is doing so if you are local to Manchester then I would have no problem recommending him to do the work. I had a lot of work done to my car at Powerstation in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire http://www.powerstation.org.uk/ and they work on a lot of race and trackday cars.

Personally I would always do the work myself as I enjoy doing it and it also means you save a load of money!

I run movit brakes on the ZR1. They are actually Brembos but apparently using the stronger Porsche calipers that Brembo make. There is a uk dealer based in Haywards Heath from memory it's a rally team.
