No Vettes at the Rolex Daytona?

While watching the 24 hours of Daytona intro on motors tv, I was happy to hear all about the new DP Corvette design and the work that went into designing it ready for the 50th Rolex 24hrs. Yet was rather shocked that Corvette didnt have any GT privateer entries in the race, 'they' race in GT4, GT3, GT2 and GT1 all around the globe, yet dont have a grand am car spec?
I know the gt4/3's that have been raced are preped by companies other than Corvette but thought they'd make a Grand Am model.
Is there a reason for this?
