Not sure where to ask,so i thought i,d ask here first.

I have nearly finished putting a stock LS3 with GM ECU into my racecar.I have got an idea that the ECU will need a little help.I have a couple of questions,Firstly is it true, that the stock GM map is difficult to change with out plug in box,s of trickery. If that is true then can you surgest from experiance where i look to find a garage who can extract the best from my set up.The pic shows my exhaust so you get the idea why i think fueling will need looking into.Any idea,s

PM Ringram as he's the EFI Live agent. He's probably the best person to supply you with advice.

To be honest if you have the intake at the same diameter as OEM and the O2 sensors plugged in, it will trim itself pretty well.
If you have messed with the oem configuration then sure there might be more to be had with a more efficient exhaust. But the MAF will pickup the extra airflow anyway.

Personally Id drive it and see how it goes. If you want more power after that, then there is probably some to be had in the fueling deptartment. But get some seat time in first IMO and iron out any issues that arise before worrying about remapping it. Unless you have put a cam in etc?

There is basically a dearth of tuners who can handle cam installs. Maybe something mild and there are a couple about. Paul from Wortec uses HPT and will charge an arm and a leg, but does a reasonable job on the milder cams.
Bigger cams Im not aware of anyone doing the OEM ECU except as a DIY job. Let me know if you get stuck though I might be able to point you in the right direction.

If it's a race car, bin the MAF and go speed density.

Out of interest. What do the likes of Gardner Douglas do ? Do they do any ecu tuning, or do they just build them on factory tunes ?

GD get crate motors from mast now. They used to use a local tuner to them, but either use OEM create E-ROD ECU's or Mast, who use an aftermarket controller.
