I'm seriously tempted to buy the full evolution system in the spring - probably the stainless steel one as that's £2k compared with £3k for the titanium (ouch). What attracts me to this (other than the build quality, weight saving, extra power, extra torque, delicious sounds and gorgeous exhaust tips) is that it is compatible with the mild-2-wild so I don't have to deafen the neighbours unless I feel like it.

Are there any repercussions to fitting this - potential errors codes/pitfalls etc?

Wouldn't expect any warning messages. I would suggest it would be more cost effective to have the stock exhaust modified. There are threads on Corvette Forum from guys in the U.S. who have done it.....

Thanks Mitch, I will look into this - especially as the guy at Akrapovic tells me their exhaust might not work with the Mild2Wild and I'd be better off buying one of their £300 switchable systems...

Later:

OK, I looked into it and I like the sound of the modified muffler. Only question now, who the heck would do this for me on this side of the pond??

Hello Buddy - how are you doing - missed you at CCCUK Xmas meal. Why don't you have a muffler or part system custom manufactured in stainless - it can be as loud or quiet as you like!

Hi mate. Yeah, sorry about that but was just tied up. Hope it went well. Am already looking forward to the spring smile

Do you know a good place which could do something like that for me? I hadn't really considered it. I guess they could recycle the valves so the M2W still functioned also...

Had mine done from headers-back in 3" diameter stainless by Hayward & Scott at Basildon - you are gonna' be in ball park figure of £1k(ish) - excuse the oil - minor overfill situation!

Still a lot cheaper than an Akrapovic. Just learned that the M2W does work with the evo system though so am torn again. Need to think on it over the winter. Thanks for the tip - I may go over and talk to them. Looks like a decent job.

How about this as a way of improving the sound? I know it will give power gains to some extent but is it likely to make much of a difference to the noise?

If not, perhaps these are a way forward:

Definite power and noise improvements here surely, even with a stock exhaust.

(As you can tell, I have some cash burning a hole...)

David Yu had an Akrapovic on his C6 Z06 a few years back and I think he took the exhaust off the car before he sold it. It might be worth contacting him to see if he still has it. If he doesn't he would certainly be able to help regarding where he got his from etc.

I'll ping him on FB and tell him to look at this thread too.

David ran long tube headers and a standard back box.
Headers and modifying the back box is probably the best value and makes the car noticeably more responsive.

If you want an exhaust made, call Lance at OJZ Engineering

His work is second to none, although you may need to book a few weeks ahead of time

Hayward and Scott's stuff is decent, but doesnt come close to the quality of Lance's work.
