Hi Guy's

Could you please point me in the right direction regarding some info on the C6 Z06.
Looking for std equip, optional extras and service intervals/costs. I have had a quick look and everything tells
me how quick it is but little info found on anything else.

Also I need info on the width to see if it would fit in the garage smile

Thanks in advance thumbup

As I recall, albeit it late on a Friday night Z06's follow GM's standard service regime which would be:-

Every 1 Year/10,000 miles/service indicator requested service. Oil and filter change plus overall mechanical inspection.

Every 2 Years/20,000 miles/service indicator requested service. As above but including air & pollen filters. Brake fluid should also be replaced.

Every 6 Years/60,000 miles/service indicator requested service. As above including transmission fluid replacement and a ream of things that I can't remember. This is the big 'un so to speak.

Beyond this we are now recommending regular clutch fluid bleeds as the fluid is easily contaminated and can lead to clutch slippage. Once this begins the clutch needs replacing along with slave cylinder. All cooling systems should be inspected carefully on each and every service.

It's late so I'm bound to miss stuff here but here goes

2006 orig silver cntr console. Rawest of them all
2007 multifunction wheel. More sound deadening.
2008 facelifted console. Different shorter shift box. Slightly softer rear setup. Revised steering rack
2009 leather wrap dash option
2010 (I think) auto opening hatch

In the US 3 option packages available ZL 1,2,3. 3 being the most loaded. 2 being most common. Nav being an option on them all

In the UK all a bit different but Nav still an option. If Nav is fitted you loose the Mp3 aux 6 disk changer

Spend some time on google smile

Mitch

Assuming it's just an oil and filter change plus mechanical check what would the cost be?

Thanks

Mitch, I'll be due the 6 year service later next year. What am I looking at if I make the drive up to see you?

Yes I must admit my '06 makes some worrying noises back there on occasion. If the synchro ever failed at least I could upgrade I guess.

Gents, I will check with my aftersales team in the morning and get straight back to you.

For what it's worth we've not had any transmission issues on Z06 that I know of. The clutch is the weak point as it was designed to be zero-maintenance and is hard to access and nigh on impossible to inspect.

Hi

I'd start with a 'mild to wild' if it hasn't already got one smile

http://nakidparts.com/

....and if you haven't already, then consider joining the club. It's less than half a tank of fuel and gets you various discounts and a mag

Hi, is that purely a control system for the exhaust 'flaps'? ie, does the same as taking the exhaust module fuse?

Yes. It plugs in instead of the fuse and come with 2 remotes to enable switching the flaps while driving or while standing next to the car when it running

ok.. i see, thanks for that,, must admit, pulling and pushing the fuse is a pain. What about tyres? im needing a set of rears, and seem to be struggling to get anything with any reasonable tread.. Ive got a set of pilot sport cups waiting for me at national tyres,, but they.ve only got about 3.5 mm of tread... no use for our climate, or covering any mileage.. Any thoughts? How much tread have the eagle f1 g2's got...

If you are in any way 'enthusiastic' then you'll find you need rear tyres every 5k or so!

By all accounts the G2's are better than the G1's that were on mine from new (lasted a shade under 5k), there are alternatives, especially if you don't want a runflat. I have PS2's on mine, a bit larger at 345 but no problems with them (currently up to 6k on these tyres inc a couple of wet trackdays). Mind you, mine is not an everyday car.

Others have had Pirelli's or Bridgestones, the cup's would be good but not for a UK winter! As you have found, its supply rather than choice that is the limiting factor in the UK.

Power wise you can do a couple of minor mods, intake airbox, full length headers etc without upsetting things.
IIRC 11 seconds off the showroom floor are possible. Which is very fast!

Gents,

1 year service is £250+VAT

6 year service is £600+VAT which includes a coolant replacement.

We check all cars for any service bulletins and software updates when they are with us too.

For those looking for tyres we now have stock of Supercar G:2's and whilst I don't have the price for the fronts to hand the rears are £470+VAT. Subject to any large orders we should have these in stock on an ongoing basis now.
