Does anyone know of a good supplier for these? I have lots of noise and some play in my right rear wheel and, following a service yesterday, the mechanic reckons that I may have broken splines on the axle or maybe the bearings.

I have a quote from one UK based supplier but it seems very steep, I just want to shop around but not sure where would be the best to get one from.

Any help appreciated!

More likely just one of the cv joints on the way out.

Even so, it looks like you have to replace (buy) the whole axle rather than just the CV joint. frown

No point in ordering parts until you've diagnosed what's wrong.

Is the noise more noticeable when turning?

What does the noise sound like? Maybe a clicking or popping sound or even a clunking?

Its a clunking noise mainly when cornering, car is being taken apart this morning to see what's wrong. It still drives so that points to a CV joint rather than the axle for me.

If you are getting a notching sensation/notching sound when the car is on a strong steering lock then it is down to the differential. We were replacing the diff oil and adding a friction modifier to a number of 2006/2007MY cars. There will always be some notching as the diff is too set too tight to allow full steering lock, I have however driven Z06's where you could feel the LSD kicking in when just turning into a roundabout which clearly has rather detrimental effects and produces some splendid oversteer. As I recall the LSD clutch packs are responsible and start to lock too soon......

When this happened to mine I replaced them with a strenghened pair from Dennys in the USA at a reasonable price.
