A red / white C1 dutch registered car DH-45-15 was stolen from its garage over the Corvette Fame weekend. There are details including a picture here on Facebook.

As soon as the VIN is available I'll add it on here.

Obviously the Corvette world is a small one and even more so in Europe so if you hear about a cheap C1 being offered be suspicious!

That's sad to hear. My first guess was that it was stolen to order and will go underground as a result. Fingers crossed it appears though.

Yes, I suspect it was taken to order. There were loads of other cars parked outside all night and they had quite a bit of bottle as there were more police around the town than on previous years. The border is a very short drive away. anyway see below -

In the night of July 8-9, 2011 a 1959 Chevrolet Corvette was stolen out of the garage of the Atlanta hotel in Valkenburg aan de Geul, Netherlands, where the owner, Piet Baggerman, resided awaiting the start of the international Corvette Fame meeting.
This sad news has been posted on several Dutch forums already, and the Dutch police has been informed as well.
All of us are very concerned that the Corvette will be, or has already been, exported to another country and will be offered for sale abroad.

The VIN of this car is J59S104971.
