Sounds a bit like the old one of sending in an unsigned cheque, they sent it back, to sign you didn't return it etc etc .The system is now on computer, if you don't sort it out they send you a summons, as far as I am aware, it won't work as long as they have your licence and enough money they will process it. Somethings do occasionally go wrong though.

I was gatso'd about 3 years ago, letter turns up asking for driver details. I wrote off asking for the photo's, and got a letter back stating that they could only send copies, but they forgot to enclose them. Wrote back again, asking them to send the copies, which I later recieved with a letter apologising for the delay. I didn't return their paperwork, and never heard any more about it. I've since always tried to drag stuff like this out, for as long as possible, as the chances of an administrative error increase. mf
