I was thinking about getting one of these speed camera GPS locators, has anyone here got one that can give me an un biased opinion?

Search "geodesy" in General Gassing. There have been a number of threads over the last month on this.

Try

www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=7193&f=10&h=0&hw=geodesy

If you search as follows:

geodesy
General Gassing
last six months

quite a few threads come up.

Cheers

I've got one! Top piece of kit, but I'd check out an origin one as well if I was looking too buy now, bit more expensive to buy, and update but more features.

Just got one last Tuesday - the plus version. Cost £399 direct from Morpheous and arrived the next day.

Took 3 mins to install into my A6 and has worked great ever since. The phone update is so simple a muppet could use it and it just works.

I've a few Qs into them right now re how they are handling variable speed limits (one of the plus features is no noise alarm if < speed limit but it still goes off on M25 variable no matter what speed).

Looked long at the Origin 1 unit but in the end chose the on I felt had less toys (my Sat Nav tells me where I am!) and works well.

Although if anybody has any tips for installing in a Chimaera I'd welcome those!

Mines hardwired in to my Chimarea, dead simple, if not that pretty!
Stuck to the dash top, using a small piece of doublesided tape, not the huge slab that comes with it! Wire then runs along the joint at the back of the dash, and down in to the passenger footwell, the standard legth of cable does not quite reach the battery, so is lengthened with stardard speaker cable and attached straight to the battery, only down side is there is always power to the unit regardless of ignition switch, so unit must be removed when parked, but then you would remove it anyway so no one nicks it!

that would be very worrying.. however, I can't see it happening. Markup must be HUGE on the units...

Fact this is not the case.
I have made some phone calls this morning and e-mailed Markqelise off line. I can say catagorically that they have not "gone bust" and leave it at that, as this is a public forum and Ted is always very concious of potential legal implications.

To keep the Chimaera looking pretty get the extra antenna and you can have your Godesey thing installed under the dashboard on the left of the steering wheel (near the switch for the dashboard lights. This keeps it looking pretty and hides the unit from prying eyes.

Whats the best radar detector available?
I know they each have their weaknesses, but whats the best?
I once saw an article comparing a few, and a detector called the 'Valentine One' came out tops, but that was about five years ago now.

How much is the subscription on the Geodsey?

Radar detectors - best one changes every month.
