Fake Cameras

Police in Manchester are using speed cameras that aren't Home Office approved in a bid to slow traffic. The cameras work in the same manner as approved units, but the evidence is inadmissable. The cameras are reported to have found 12% of traffic on the road travelling at above the speed limit.

Perhaps they know something we don't, is the chap from Guildford going to win his case to be heard in the European courts soon which, if he does regains our God given right not to incriminate ourselves by providing the plods with driver information following click! click!, your nicked cameras

1 in 8 motorists speed? That means 7/8 don't. Where is the justification for resources being diverted to a poor quality screening procedure?

Somehow I doubt the Home Office figures. Perhaps they are once more being economical with the truth ?? Or perhaps 1/8 people speed Past a camera, which once you get to know their locations, becomes an entirely different thing. Just drive about at the speed limit and watch how large a queue of traffic you can build up behind you.. I do it all the time

Thats why learners appear to be driving really slowly with a queue of traffic behind them. Because they're taught to drive at the speed limit. Its the same if I go for a drive with an IAM observer. I feel like a complete prick driving at the speed limit where it is too low and theres a huge queue building up behind me.

the best one is to watch your speedo when your sitting in a Q, expescially in Rush Hour, then watch it out of rush hour when the road is moving freely, free moving traffic never moves below 70 on an A class road! The best road to see this is on the A421 into MK! It's wierd!

Agreed ! my trip on the A1 was only spoilt by the prick who installed gatsos (only 'cos I had to slow down when the LEDS got to #9). Otherwise, 90mph is a nice average - especially when you can leave a 5 second gap !!! nothing wrong with 90-100 cruising, except it's against our archaic laws. Obviously I agree with being good round town...
