Driving home from work at 1am last night I went through the 1st speed camera northbound on the A3 after the M25. I got flashed doing 70ish (it's a 50 area about 1/4 mile after changing from 70).
My own stupidity though as I drive the road every day but was distracted by some tw@t on the opposite carriage way with his full beam on... Anyway...

What do peoeple think the likely hood of getting a summons/ticket is, i.e. will it have film or are they digitially linked these days and what would the likely penalty be.

Not digitally linked yet and you still stand a reasonable chance of not getting a ticket.

AFAIK digital cameras don't flash anyway.

Redone, if you do then I'm in trouble too 'cos I was racing a 911 and went through that one at a bloody ridiculous speed late one night last week.

Sounds like a requirement for a Geodesy or Origin Blue - just to give you a wake up before cameras you know about, but have momentarily forgotten...

Daft thing is I've got a Geodesy but I'd left it in my Tuscan and was driving my second car (Vectra Estate - quality)

I've been tempted by a Geodesy, do people find that they work well? How easy is it to take them from car to car? Sorry mate not a wind up about the Vectra

Geodesy is excellent.... if you remember to use it.! It comes with 2 car cradles (one for hardwiring and one for cigar lighter/hardwiring). The main unit is simple to move from car to car and for removing for non-nicking purposes.
Well worth a purchase.

As for the Vectra... I had to laugh the other day, it sounded like a bag of spanners and vauxhall investigated and told me it was pretty serious.. Anyway they sorted it and seem apologetic when they charged me £160. They've clearly never had to pay for a TVR service/problem.

just something that bugs me. I drive over 500 miles a week, half on motorways half in towns, and have to wonder, knowing the small amount of nice sports cars out there on the road, how it is that the vast majority of people posting messages on web car related forums all seem to apparantly own tvrs, porsches, imprezas, etc. Obviously it is the car enthousiasts owning these marques that will be more likely to post car related messages than the average bob drivers, but I still think it's extreme. No disrespect to those of you who are for real of course, just bugs me!

Cheers redone, I can feel a purchase coming on

AlVal....surely it's 'cos those who are particularly interested in motoring and are into their sports cars, are more likely to be turned on by sites like this.....or have I missed the gist of your point?
