They have 11 months or something to change them all.

Some already are, the one on the Embankment just before you get to the Houses Of Parliament is, but only just, its got a yellow sticker on the back.

There are some on the A1 between Newark and Grantham in the roadworks, that are covered in a yellow reflective material.......so they blend in easily with all of the roadwork signs.

Stafford have got it right - they put a reflective sticker on the back - it really stands out compared to the completely yellow ones (IMO). Mind you, they've still got way too many of the damned things!! I counted over 15 on the road from Stafford to Stoke.... and thats less than 10 miles...... Is that a record?

Whats the regs wrt signs and proximity to cameras - can we force them to take the signs down if they're not within a mile or something of a camera and does it have to be on the same road??

Plenty of the nice reflective yellow variety on the M11 roadworks. All nice and obvious, apart from the one behind the bridge of course...

But the M11 cameras near Stanstead are grey and obscured by sign and bridge supports. I thought the colour thing was only applicable if the local plod were in for a profit share. Govt Gatso's are still allowed to lurk in disguise. I could be wrong, but it would make sense. Question, how much do Gatso's bring in per year nationwide?

The cameras at Stansted are grey. The ones at the new roadworks between Harlow and the M25 are yellow.

I think that is correct, and as Essex police are in the 'cash for cameras' game (all in the interests of safety of course) then they ought to be yellow.

Nottingham Police have been told to paint all it's cameras yellow, and are objecting to this, they will probably paint them green and brown and cover them in Ivy

I believe they only have to paint them in a bright colour if they intend to take a percentage of the revenue from the fines generated by the cameras. There is a whole host of other conditions in this case too, such as no signs where there aren't cameras etc.

If the police authoity in question continue to give 100% of the proceeds to the treasury, they can leave the cameras as they are. Or so I believe.

Doesn't that sound completely . They are there purely for safety and so must be yellow, unless HMG are getting the profits at which point they can stay hidden and grey...Hmmm.....
