GATSO threshold to be lowered

Heard a rumour that ACPO is to lower the threshold that GATSOS activate to 36mph for 30's. Don't know about other speeds yet...

I thought the ACPO guidelines already said 10% + 3 mph so that would be 36 in a 30 and 58 in a 50 ??????

Which is probably fair enough, being almost a third faster that you're meant to be going.

The necessary electronic devices have been ordered. If plod is going to start doing me for 58 in a 50, then this is an absolute necessity.

Needless to say I shall be asking for the piccies, calibration certificate etc etc...

This is a just a rumour I heard. I assume it must have been a little higher before, but I'm not sure what it was.
