hypothetically?

i was parked in a taxi rank in my lotus elise, s2 and i noticed two poeple walking around taking details of the car and realized they were giving me a ticket for been in a taxi rank (didnt realise)! could not believe it as i just pop'd in to the pub after dropping a mate of to say hi to the lads! hypothetically - obviously!

I then jumped into the car and dried to drive off without them actually finishing issuing a ticket. One of the men run in front of me (car) and the other continued writing the ticket - - - -to it had defz not been written yet. I then reversed out the way of the guy ( traffic warden) who shouted ' are you going to hit me (drive me over) ' and drove off and the public in the bar all roared laughter.

As the ticket was not issued should i get it - they may have pics of the car on the rank but they did not get a pic with a ticket on the car? I need advice? the guy who was writing the ticket also stated that i was a 'twat'!

Thanks

It would be invalid any way as they broke the rules by trying to stop you and taunting you.

The ticket WILL stand unfortunately. What you should do is make a written complaint to the council regarding the conduct of the warden. What an absolute disgrace, blocking motorists and shouting things at them, that is not their job.

You are joking arent you?

Sorry, I forgot, you are Mr Perfect. You have never "nipped in" and I bet you have never speeded.
Condicending tw@t.

The law has been changed so they can give you a ticket without having to stick it on the car. This is so the small minded nazis can get you on CCTV etc. I would state that I couldnt see the road markings due to people standing in the road / rubbish / snow etc etc and I would complain about the parking nazi. I would be prepared to take it on the chin and pay up. You may have a chance if the gits didnt get round to taking photos.

As already said , the law has been changed so that the ticket does not have to actually have been placed on the screen . The law was changed because of incidents just like this when people complained about receiving tickets for being ilegally parked and quickly drove off.

Similar thing happened to me, the chap took a photo of my tax disc while i was actually moving!!!!

Wasnt in a taxi bay but similar scenario ie parking ticket not finished while i drove off.

Be prepared for the traffic wardens to lie through their teeth, they did in my case but having taken the case to appeal i won!

Good luck

I lost - but then I had my wifes expences pay for it. So clever, cost the NHS £60. The thing that gets me is that the morons are proud of thier job.

Could be £120 if they say that they "handed" you the ticket and you have ignored it.

If they go down this route as they did with me, then the first you will know about it is in approx 5 weeks you will receive a letter stating youve ignored the ticket and now its doubled to £120.

I did the same as you... drove off before it was issued (Westover Road, Bournemouth). Warden threw it in my car as I drove off.

Contested it with the council but they proceeded. Took it to the appeals ombudsman and won. The law says the ticket must be "served correctly" and there are only 2 means. Fixed to the vehicle or handed to the driver. There is no variation of the law for variances in motor vehicles and you couldn't "serve" a ticket by throwing it at a motorcyclist, could you ?

The warden claimed I threw it out of the car (which wasn't true because it got stuck behind the drivers seat) so yes they are open to blatant lying.. but it was irrelevant. It was not serverd correctly....

... however if they have a photograph that may be different.

I returned to my vehicle a minute late (yes really!) in Hampstead Heath (no!, I was working there, I'm not that way inclined!) to find one of our friends writing me a ticket,

"It's too late, I have already processed it, you will have to wait for it to print", "I don't want it thanks" was my reply.

No ticket on windscreen, thus no photographic evidence. I decide not to hang about so jump in the motor and drive off. Matey is standing in the way of my escape route so I advise him to move mad, he did so reluctantly, I drove off.

That was about two months ago and I have heard nothing since biggrin

If had hung about as he 'advised' me to do it would have cost me £60!

rofl - just skimmed through that thread. What a muppet you are when you could get the 60 quid back anyway. Brilliant!!

Not sure what the point of this is!

You were parked in the wrong place, you knew it was possible to be fined for being there even if you were just 'popping in' - I assume? You got caught! Whats the problem? Just pay the fine - its sixty quid, surely thats less than a night out!?

If you had done nothing wrong and you were being hassled thats a different story but you parked ina taxi rank! Everyone knows that you'll get a ticket if you get caught!

As far as I'm aware, if the ticket was not fixed to the car, or handed to you, it has not been properly served.

You can't do anything about it at this point, unless you get a letter in the post I'd not worry about it.

Agree totally - ignorance is no defence. What's wrong with parking down the road and *shock horror* having to walk a few yards? The wardens shouldn't have taunted you but then you shouldn't have attempted to avoid them.

Put it down to experience and be a bit more careful where you park next time. Hypothetically of course wink
