I think it's high time that Rader detecters, Laser Jammers, GPS camera systems etc are renamed to bring them in line with Govenment spin.

So, how about "Saftey Protectors"?!

... after all, if cameras are only placed at danger spots and Police target motorists where there have been accidents and complaints, then surely the rader detecter / jammer would be warning the drivers of dangerous areas?

"Have you switched your safety detector on darling"?

"Hazard Warning System."

Excellent. As a sop to the vegetblists crowd the location of all the schools in the country could be listed as Hazard areas.

This might become necessary as I'm certain that our dear Gov't are currently cooking up ways to ban 'em.

Yep, I'm sure they will find a way to ban schools. They cost so much money which they could be keeping in Gordon's war chest for election tax cuts

I was going down the A303 at about 1AM. Pitch black. There was a car in the distance behind me, we were both doing around 60 on the singles and around 70 on the NSL duals. Everytime I got a Gatso warning on the origin blue i, i flashed my hazards for about 2 seconds. The car behind me flashed his lights at me everytime he passed the cameras (I assume he was thanking me and not telling me off!!!)

Slightly later on that car turned off onto a side road and another car came zooming up behind me. Suddenly on came the good ol' blue flashing lights.

Pulled over and the copper asked me what I was doing with my hazard lights everytime I passed a speed camera. I simply replied "Just pointing out an obvious roadside hazard and preventing an accident".

He gave me a bit of verbal about how cameras save lives etc etc then let me on my way.

Did I hurt his wallet or somthing.....?

eh? so slowing down for a camera is more dangerous than speeding though it?????

F**king dickwad. What's the point in punishment without education? sometimes attitudes like that inadvertantly make you think all coppers are stupid. Good job I know a load of good guys, eh?

There's one (I forget which) sold by Argos that's described in the catalogue as a "safety warning device - alerts you to hazard areas commonly monitored by gatso type cameras" (or words to that effect)
