Well, I've finally got caught by a speed camera on the A43 LUMBERTUBS WAY, NORTHAMPTON, doing 64 in a 50.

Now this area states it has all it's cameras marked with the reflective covers, but I don't recall seeing it. (Obviously) If it didn't would I get off on a technicality, or am I blind and should just take the wrap?

Would it be worth my while going to check if it had, or does anyone know the camera. I think there are 2 there. ( I live in Cambs by the way.)

Should've had my snooper on eh? DoH !!!

You've been caught by SPECS average speed detectors. There are 4 sets of cameras in that stretch of dual carriageway. A Snooper will not work on these (they don't emit beams). A GPS system is your only defence. I'm afraid you will have to take the rap. The system works by using number plate recognition. Would you mind please asking for proof, and posting their reply. Many on here would be very interested in their evidence. This should not affect your penalty. Sorry and all that.

I'm sure it was a camera as I remember being flashed twice from behind, and the NIP metions camera.

The pic is already in the post, no problems there.

Is it definetley your car?
Go to Pepipoo.com for further advice, ask your question to Mika.
Good luck!

I live 1 mile away from Lumbertubs Way, and there are no Gatsos (these flash twice). They sometimes deploy the Scamera vans, with lasers (again no flash) but with the SPECS setup, there is little need.

commiserations on being caught, I think they look at your plate and measure your speed over the length of that road, hey presto nicked, If its any consolation we took our evil boss'es car through it just before we left his crap company. do'nt remember ever seeing vans or other cameras over there apart from moulton park that is, or that new one to catch the bikers on the mad mile on the road to blackthorn?

Tabs, i owe you an apology. It was a SPECS. The photo came through yesterday, and it clearly shows my car but you can't see the driver being night time.

Trouble is, I did get flashed that weekend, but now remember it was the following night in Essex. DOH ! I have been double flashed before and not received anything, so will hope for the best. This could prove to be an expensive weekend. ( I also had a blowout in my Lotus )
