I've just got through my Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty through from a speeding offence. (83mph in a 70)

Ok, I was speeding and will plead guilty, but on looking at the photo's I'm a bit bewildered.

The pictures of my car are head on and taken from the opposite side of the dual carriageway.

The 'Safety' van (which I saw) must have done an illegal manouver(sp?) to get where he was. He was parked on the grass verge of a dual carriageway and pointing the wrong way.

Is the van aloud to bend the rules of the Highway Code, I mean he didn't have his amber lights flashing as should highway maintenance vehicles when parked dangerously.

Just seems one rule for one and one rule for another.

ILP.

Been there and got the t-shirt with this one. I'm going through a similar situation. The fact that you have been done for speeding by an illegally parked car doesn't matter in terms of the evidence he can put up against you.

However you can raise a complaint through the Police Complaints Authority which they apparently need to follow up on your behalf.

But be aware, my lawyer has stated that if I do I will be harrassed by the police forever until I die!

Fair and just country we live in eh?

What's the book called, oh yeah, Animal Farm by George Orwell (SP?), quote: "All Animals are Equal, but some are more Equal than others". Isn't it funny that one of the main characters is a Pig !!!!!

Do it. There is some recompense for your to do so, even if it is just to get your own back.

This does not happen. It is fantasy on your lawyers part.
Harassment is considered part of the regulations on Police Conduct.
In certain circumstances it can be constried as a criminal offence.
The only person who is likely to be concerned with harassing you wold be the driver who parked the van that took your photo.
He will more than likely be a civilian.
To harass someone who has already complained about you just makes the situation worse for the investigated officer.

Why harass someone who has complained in any case. There are plenty more willing candidates who will complain at the drop of a hat to worry about a minor complaint such as parking in an unsporting or illegal manner.

Funny how the name calling starts after someone has broken the law ?

If you don't complain - then don't complain that you didn't complain

I'm with madcop on this one. If they parked dangerously then I would report them without hesitation. You may indirectly save a few licences and lives as well. What's more, think of the satisfaction to be had if the camera operator gets a ticket! Go for it! Madcop, I like your posts, very informative.
