Insurance companies usually ask for the last 5 years, but IMHO, if they dont show on the license how can they tell?

Your 4 year is correct from the date of offence NOT conviction. If it were an offence with a dangerous driving code then it would be 4 years (or 11 years depending) from the date of conviction.

Send it off and they will remove it.

Insurance companies can tell how old points are if they have been declared at any time in the past , as it will be on the central register database. This may only be checked in times of the having to pay out , but that is normally when you need them (insurance companies).

Remember DVLA like everthing else involved in the points scam will require money from you to take the points off.

I know someone who had expired points on his licence, and when he moved house, he sent the licence in for the address to be updated. When his new licence arrived, the expired points were not on it. So if you want points removing for free, move out to your mate's house and tell the DVLA you have a new address.

oh...but that doesnt come CLOSe to their astounding personalised no. plate rip off.

1) Sell registration at vastly inflated price due to potential to spell something of relevance to someone.
2) Accept the fact that the 'word purchased' (and therefore associated increased value) is only relevent if plate is mis-spaced (SAT4N for example)
3) charge 1000 pounds for any misspaced plates seen on cars, confiscate plate and then sell it AGAIN for increased value!

absolute genius.....
