URGENTTaken from the ABD e-mail list
Are you Welsh or were you caught by a camera in Wales following the Network Q rally?

If you have, then HTV Wales are looking for someone
TODAY to sound off on television!

The police deliberately targetted people coming for
the rally and caught 2400 people in a weekend, 750 on
the M4.

If YOU are one of them call Richard Morgan at HTV on
02920590746 he will arrange a camera near where you
are.

Maybe we P'Heads can help? Rich...

It'd be interesting to know how many accidents there were that weekend in comparison to when the caravan numpties are out and about .........

Bet they're only looking for a numbwit tho to take the rise out of and make it obvious that speed kills, not a sensible, intelligent PHer to put the point across that poor driving kills..... Be aware of hidden agendas if you get involved with this.

and this improved road safety right? can it get any more blatent......the only glimmer of hope in all this is the amount of 'normal' non petrolhead people getting punished will lead to less support for them

Perhaps someone in Wales who sees this might report back? I assume there are a few Pistonheads in Wales? Rich...

How many of the 2400 were rally spectators ? If you did as the SW Police did - draft in 90- extra cameras you will get results proportional to the effort. With their usual 10 vans or so they achieve 300 per day.

Of course it sounds good to link with with the rally and the sense that everyone to do with the rally is a speed freak. And the spin released to BBC Wales stated that any competing cars that were caught would be reported to the organisers for further sanctions. That might have worked in the old days before automated scameras when the police would report affences during the event but now, the results have been final and the largely foreign entry have gone home long before the brown envelopes are despatched.

These camera partnerships are replacing 'policing by consent' with 'policing by soundbite' - douing the real police and their cause no good at all.

Scamera partnerships...... what a joke they are.
Multiple quangos set up to rip off motorists in the name of safety, run by bearded sandal wearing tree huggers...uurrrrrghh..puke.
Hope they get run over by one of their own safety...er speed camera talivans, tossers, try explaining that to the chief constable..."i was only doing 31"...dicks.
