Assume you got banned for a short while and handed your licence in at court. A change of address needed to be made on the licence - this was done by the DVLA. If they forgot to note the endorsement, does it still "exist"?

PS - understand the requirement to inform insurers etc...

Toughie to call...

I guess in reality is DOES still exist... but whether you get caught saying you haven't got any endorsements is another matter.

What's the phrase? "anything's legal until you get caught"...

Then again... it might be on the PC... in which case you could end up FUBAR'd.

In short... I don't know, which is probably why I didn't reply in the first place.

phone up the dvla, tell them you have left your license
somewhere and need to renew your car insurance today. Tell them that you need to know if you have any current points on your record, and if so what they are, so that you can tell the insurance company and hence be insured.
I don't see why they would have a problem with this.
As for the record being on the pnc, well, if they didn't put it on your license, I guess its likely it won't be on the pnc, but I guess this will be harder to find out.

Yes.

DVLA will retain the detials on file in a DQ3 report. This is several pages long and details your entire driving history, when you got the licence, any duplicates issued, etc.

Best hope is the court forgot top record it. Checks and balances in place so CPS will record, police records office if cop present, and eventually these records are crossed checked just in case someone "forgot" to record points on the licence of their nearest and dearest.

Chances are next time DVLA get your licence, they'll update it.
