Hi

what speed do u need to be going to "miss" the gatso camera "white lines" Didn;'t Clarkson come up with anything over 130mph would be too fast for the second flash ?

The Tuscan S was the only car that managed it at 172mph.

IIRC the cut off is 167mph.

Matt.

Yeah, but if you're out of the box for the second flash then you're obviously speeding. You need to be going fast enough that the gatso doesn't go off at all. IIRC this is what Clarkson managed with the TVR.

I imagine any speed less than the posted limit will suffice.

ah ! this makes sense
WHat have I've been up to ?!
just doing some research - a little pratical and theory !!

- I was a little disapointed with the Cerberra 4.5 (whilst we're talking about TVR and speed) I couldn't get it to 200 even going down hill - LOL

The research equipment:

TOUGH if the 2nd photo doesn't show up.
So what? what they going to do? it may have been set off by the car coming the other way doing just 5mph over the limit.

You guys are thinking about the wrong angle. To defeat a gatso by top speed would require the camera to be on a VERY GOOD road. Anything other than a straight road would be suicidal.

What you need, is a radar triggered LCD/Flip plate...

Hi Carl

yep has to be a dead straight bit of road - mmmh a bit like the A10 south of the M25 junc - incidently the only camera that's functioning on the A10 from the A406 to M25 stretch at the moment is the northbound facig camera, just before (1/2mile before) the M25 junction. (this of course could change tomorrow - so best not running the gauntlet !)

A mate of mine is working on a LCD plate that will change when flashed. Of course - it would also do it when plod - start flashing at you !!
