In my local area a new speed camera went up (on a really dangerous stretch of straight dual carriageway that despite not having one crash on it this year has dropped its limit and gained a tax collector) and when the guys who placed it there stopped off at the nearest cop shop to use the loo, they were told 'p off, we don't want your sort out here'

It's not in Royston Vasey is it?

This road is for 'local' people, we don't want your sort round here, look we'll have no trouble here'.

Why do they do this "drop limits" trick all the time? surely they could catch MORE people if the limit was HIGHER, because it makes it harder to slow down !

Not Royston no...

Carl, probably because if the limits were ok (i.e. a decent stretch of road is a 70) then people will do 75-80 and not get caught. Drop it to 40, people will get peeved at a lack of progress and will naturally accelerate.........
