Ipark Services/Wrong reg number

SWMBO took my car and parked in an I Park Services pay and display car park. Because her brain was in auto mode, she paid, but put her car reg number in, not mine. Obviously, we now have the old £60 now, £100 later invoice. We have proof that parking was paid for, but just not this car! Do we have a leg to stand on???

Look up the guidelines on "keying errors" and appeal.

Wife did similar - input her reg not mine.

Penalty charge reduced to just an "admin fee" about £20 from memory

I uploaded the V5s two weeks ago and last Friday was the end of the "extension" period. Anyone know how long it takes for the final decision generally??

Not a lot of help but the last time I appealed a parking charge I didn't hear anything.

About six weeks after I received a demanding letter for £170.

No reply at all regarding my second appeal, then a letter arrived yesterday demanding £100 after "repeated attempts to collect payment".

So... I phoned this morning

They claim they sent out a reply to my second appeal, with the two V5s attached, which I didn't get. However they have now reduced it to a £20 admin fee. Entirely reasonable on the phone.

I did something similar in the Cotswolds. Paid for the wrong car. The fine was £50, reduced to £25 if I paid promptly - in the end I just coughed up, as it seemed less hassle that way.

I didn't mind paying something as it was our error, however we did pay for what we received.

Yes, I had also paid, and extended, both on the wrong plate. But I decided that it wasn't worth the time/effort.

is an admin fee enforceable? just interested, and I know there are people here who actually know these things?
