Women caught driving while banned. Obviously no insurance. Lied about her identity but was found out.

Punishment: £200 fine and 5 months added to her ban.

What's the point?! Even when caught it's a lot cheaper than being legal. What sort of deterrent is that?

I stopped watching these programmes as they wound me up. Basically they advertise to scumbags that they won't face any real consequences.

For years people have been prepared to drive whilst disqualified even with ANPR. They all know that the sentences for getting court are minimal.

40 -50 yrs ago without ANPR most people knew driving whilst disqualification could well mean a short stay in prison.

Even the points system v the old endorsement system has reduces the amount of disqualification that take place now.
