Just a quickie

Got flashed by a GATSO early December. 36 in a 30
Dual carriageway that for decades has been 40. Such is life in Khans London that hates free movement of people. Ironic given he's so pro-EU hehe
Got the paperwork through. 1 week to the day afterwards.
It was me.
I sent the paperwork back saying as much, week before Christmas

Nothing back yet?

Met Police if it matters.

Not the Met but I did mine online and received the NIP 3 working days later - I would imagine that the Christmas break may have delayed things a bit though.

I confessed to this forum of "speeding" where limits had been recently lowered.
I found that the driving equivalent of muscle memory would kick in and, unless I was very switched on as I made progress, I'd find myself travelling at the old limit.
Something that surprised me was the puritanical response of the majority of PHers replying. For some reason a lot of them don't like speeders under any circumstances.

I sometimes feel that we have been infiltrated by Mumsnet and BRAKE.

Sadly PH is slowly being taken over by the "wet wipes" from BRAKE org.
Take heart though, there are still plenty of us ole fart speeders still around, we just don't stick our heads above the parapet's to often. paperbag

If you're going to be offered a course, they'll likely want this to be completed no later than 4 months from the date of the alleged offence. Likewise for the issue of an offer to accept a fixed penalty.

Means you could be waiting a little longer for something to drop through your leterbox.

Yeah, seems that 36 is within Mets criteria for a Speed awareness course.

Yeah, seems that 36 is within Mets criteria for a Speed awareness course.

If you attend a speed awareness course, you may be asked to place a rating between 1 and 10, on what you consider your standard of driving to be.

A gentleman found himself in that situation and as he thought no one appeared to have recognised him, he wrote;
'7, but not bad in 1979.'

That was the year when he was the Formula One World Champion. - smile

They have 6 months to process your confession, usually if it is points or a fine it will take a couple of months, if they are going to court then it could go all 6 months

But as it's a SAC (assuming you are eligible) you should hear pretty quickly, my son, a friend and I all in the same boat as you, all heard back with the course availability pretty quickly. Xmas holidays no doubt will have slowed them down a little bit.

Do you all use Waze?
I am a late convert, only recently having a car that can run it.

Users press a screen icon when spotting a road hazard or mobile speed camera, to report it to the system.
Fixed cameras are already in the system.

When approaching an already reported speed camera, a warning alert is announced in good time, but only if your speed is over the limit.

It also gives traffic light camera alerts and alerts for other safety reasons.

Recent cars have speed limit controls, so unless that feature is disabled, gradually more drivers will not be at risk of being caught. The Treasury will lose an income stream, but I expect they will dream up some new replacement taxes.

Talking of car speeds being changed according to speed limits.
On the M25 clockwise near Heathrow, there a another road which runs close to and continues alongside the M25.
A 40 mph sign on that road is visible from the M25, just the other side of the left hand concrete barrier.
If you are following a car in lane one at 70 mph, which suddenly for no apparent reason slows to 40mph, then that is the speed limiter system picking up that 40mph speed sign. Dangerous tech confusion.
