Hi - my wife has just had an NIP for parking on white zig-zag lines by a pelican crossing on Sunday morning at 7.05am.
Issued by police not a civil enforcement officer, so could end up with 3 points. BUT, she's been told the officer didn't witness it, it was just some vigilante member of the public who is going round taking photos of illegally parked cars and sending them to the police.
Is the NIP valid? and the photo admissible?

A quick search shows up the following link results, a few other county sites also state that members of the public can send in photos of zig zag parking for prosecution so i don’t think there’s much to it other than accepting any forthcoming consequences;

If she wanted to try get off it, she would need to go the court route, then hope that the prosecution either drop it or the witness who took the pic doesn't turn up.
