I heard on Top Gear today that T2000 is taking the Government to court to complain about yellow speed cameras.

Doubtless they will claim it's something to do with safety, but I'm sure underneath they simply see cameras as a way to attack their sworn enemy, the motorist, aka 80% of the population. Bastards.

Britain in 2002 - where the majority is ruled by minorities...

Graagh!

Its no good just moaning about T2000 we have to counter their arguments. The ABD is doing its best but needs more members and funds.

Spot on. I am, and have some thoughts ready to pen to Councils, Plod etc. There is little point though, I think, in talking with T2000 as, underneath the 'safety' front end they merely wish to remove all cars from the roads and Gatsos are just a handy way to make life more unpleasant for us. They must be heartily sick that the 'socialist' government they so happily voted for won't do everything they want. But then, some people are just born unhappy and like to make everyone else unhappy too.

I don't care for buses - but I don't take the Government to court about them. Live and let live, for s sake!

It does need to be consistent factual opposition as well. Also I would suggest, as they have Micheal Palin, that we need a well known Petrolhead to head it all up.

Looking at their website winds me up.

Agreed on the consistent factual approach...no melodrama and the best thing that can be done is too analyse the statistics used by T2K themselves and if applicable debunk those foundations and methods upon which the spin is based.

If you can show that these statistics are properly false you can colour the reception the public has to the rest of what is said, even if it is true...(well that's tuff 5hit on them, should rely on a professional approach and not hysteria to validate their research in the first place).

Also you don't want to use a known Petrol Head, you want a respected person who is known for something else and wont be dimissed immediately because of an obvious bias. Given their Michael Palin I would suggest John Cleese!

Michael Palin seems to enjoy mkaing his travels as hard as possible, camels, bandit-infested trains etc. Still, as it's his living and he's doubtless a multi-milionaire, that's OK for him. Less helpful for mere mortals trying to scratch a daily living though and trying to get from A to B... But it's all about telling other people what to do and what's 'good' for them, isn't it.

Last time I watch a Palin programme.

Being a majority won't help. Minorities rule our country. But only if they are the (politically) correct minority...
