Parking app error leading to PCN
Discussion
New one last week
I got an email from the lease company with a "letter to owner" from local authority for an unpaid PCN. The PCN is pictured attached to my windscreen but was not there when my wife returned to the car on the day in question. £18 admin fee from lease company to follow. grrr
This is a car park used for school run so she always pays for parking.
PCN issued for no valid virtual ticket
Checked parking app and there's no record of paying for parking on the day. I was annoyed. But then she remembers that she gets email confirmations of each session sent to her email. Checks that and it was there. Fabulous
Getting PCN overturned should be a formality. There appears to be an issue with communication between parking app and warden's machine.
Thankfully we had email confirmation, otherwise would be paying the fine. I have since turned my email confirmations on.
I find it hard to believe this is the first such case. Council should not be issuing PCNs whilst there is a known issue.
Cool story, I know!

Slightly off-topic but we received a council-issued PCN a couple of years ago and only found out about it when the letter to registered keeper arrived for non-payment (after the discounted-price period had passed). The website included a photo showing it stuck to the windscreen. In the old days, I thought these stuck like sh*t to the proverbial and were a complete pain to remove from the windscreen, but now it seems a light breeze will remove them and leave no trace!Chris
