I leased a Cupra Leon Estate in July 2023. The car quickly developed a recurring issue where it would randomly repeatedly try to call breakdown services (meaning you can't use sat nav or play music etc.). It also refused to start on several occasions. I had a hell of a time trying to get Cupra to fix the car. One cupra dealer gave up and another appeared to fix it by replacing the lighting cluster with one that was designed for a car with a sunroof (which mine doesn't have). I let this go as it appeared to work and to get this far I had to involve Cupra head office.

Today the issue has resurfaced.

I'm interested to know what my options are? Should I be chasing dealers again to try and get this fixed? Am I able to go to the leasing company and possibly reject the car as not fit for purpose? I did approach the leasing company last time but the were not really interested.

I would be on to the finance company as ultimately it’s their car and present them with all the evidence.

Get the finance company to do all the leg work. Is it VWFS by any chance? If they do nowt go through the complaints procedure to escalate up the chain to someone who has some power to do something.

The randomly calling the breakdwn service looks simlair to what happens to MK8 Golfs, as both have the same media system.
Try holding the power button on the entertainment system down for 30 to 40 sec to reboot it. This fixed mine. Better than pleading with the dealers to swap the sos / light module which is the proper fix.
I guess to have a poke around various Seat / Cupra forums to see if any other suggestions ? https://www.seatcupra.net/forums/

The non gear selecting, I would be tempted to pull the terminal on the battery for 1/2 an hour or so to fully reboot the car.

Other than that I would be straight onto the lease compnay and get them to book it it / apply pressure on the dealers
