Cruisers have cars seized…
Discussion
“Car meet” spends the night driving around most of Hampshire, three cars seized by plod during the course.

A modest intervention but good to see action of some sort at least, having that circus parading all the way from Winchester to Southampton to Portsmouth is royally taking the p*ss. We occasionally have the pleasure of the Pops & Bangs Owners Club using the very obviously residential road past our place on a weekend evening, can’t say I’m a huge fan.

They have others on the list for seizure. This story is a little follow up from a very poor local rag.

Interesting that they appear to be capturing evidence at the time and then following up with door knocking etc afterwards, given the obvious difficulties of dealing with such a volume of vehicles at the scene. And easy for them to do simply by standing in plain clothes in the assembled crowds and filming. I wonder what proportion are running false plates etc!https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/24616097.third-ar...

Good.
No doubt they turned up, took over the park and ride carpark blocking legitimate users, drove like tts risking everyone in the area (involved or not) and left a mess for the community/P&R service to clean up.
In the process probably supplying loads of material for people opposed to events to use to object to those (trying to) doing it properly (i.e. seeking suitable locations (e.g. former runways) where it can be done more safely, planning/event consent from councils, police/fire/ambulance service support/involvement to run it safely/handle if it does go wrong etc.

‘No doubt’ and ‘Probably’ are doing a lot of heavy lifting there…No doubt they turned up, took over the park and ride carpark blocking legitimate users, drove like tts risking everyone in the area (involved or not) and left a mess for the community/P&R service to clean up.

Yep 2 more nicked last night and cars seized - https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/24617237.arrests-...
It's a shame they feel the need to behave like that, so it serves them right!
Just over the border in Surrey my local Tesco at The Meadows, Camberley regularly had black circles and bits of shredded tyre in the car park, but they have installed barriers now to try to stop that sort of nonsense.

I live in Essex and 2 areas are subject to PSPO regulations due to boy racers, Thurrock Lakeside retail parks and Southend seafront. Both are very busy areas until late in the evening with families and others enjoying the facilities. The local rag reports on Police initiatives to curtail the moronic behaviour by some 'enthusiasts', normally this is followed by cries of 'There's nowhere else to go' or ' The Council should give us somewhere to go'. No. Why don't YOU find somewhere to go, pay for an airfield or some private land somewhere, take out all adequate insurances etc etc. The public roads and parking areas are not your own personal racetrack to do as you please. No doubt they turned up, took over the park and ride carpark blocking legitimate users, drove like tts risking everyone in the area (involved or not) and left a mess for the community/P&R service to clean up.

Probably impounded for a while and then given back, I don't think we crush cars in England (especially as many are on lease).
Australia have very draconian 'hoon' laws which looking at the way our politicians are going may be applied here as well before long.

What are vehicle sanctions?
There are 2 types of vehicle sanctions:
number plate confiscation
vehicle impounding (confiscating your vehicle).
Vehicle sanctions usually last for 3 months. However, your car may be sanctioned for up to 6 months if you were disqualified from driving at the time.
Police can impound a vehicle even if someone other than the registered owner was driving. This includes company-registered vehicles.
Repeat offenders
In NSW, if you repeatedly commit serious driving offences, you may forfeit ownership of your vehicle. This means that the vehicle will no longer be your property and you will have to hand it over to the police or to the court.
In some cases, your vehicle may be sold to recover its storage and collection costs. In other cases, it may be given to Transport for NSW to be used in crash testing.

Having two twenty year old JDM cars I'd be worried being roped in with the bellends you see doing burnouts in Mcdonalds though they usually do so with German cars. There are 2 types of vehicle sanctions:
