Big win during divorce
Discussion
Just an idle question really :
Was just listening to Kerrang, and somebody won the "Make me a Winner" thing - £200k. I may have misheard - but I think she said she was "just going through a divorce".
So - whether or not I misheard her - what would be the deal with the winnings? Surely if she isn't actually divorced yet - the soon to be ex husband gets half?

It will certainly become part of the estate if they don't yet have a financial order (not least as the make me a winner thing gets paid within a few hours). But, the 50:50 husband/wife thing is a myth. Courts divide the assets based on needs - the starting pint may be 50:50 but it's unlikely to end there! e.g. if there are 2 children who live with the wife then she needs a 3 bed house (if possible) but husband potentially only needs a one bed flat for himself, and that is how things are decided. There is no rule and no president.

Where has the President gone? Did he drink the starting pint?Gixer968CS said:
