Medical driving restriction
Discussion
I had an ICD fitted today 26th Sept.
DVLA site tells me one month before I can drive, registered this with them but it'll probably be a few days before I get a response.
How long is my restriction likely to be? And would day 1 be the same day as the procedure or the following day? Does oje month mean 28 days or one calender month?
Timing is critical because I have a funeral to attend on Oct 24th.

After I had my ICD the cardiac team had a form which they sent to the DVLA - I can’t remember if I had to sign it or not.
The DVLA sent me an acknowledgment a week later. It ran to the date on the original form from hospital rather than when they received/processed it.
It’ll take a good 3 weeks for your arm to feel better. The pain I had moving my left arm up and down was the worst bit of the whole process.
All the best with it. Feel free to ask any questions.

Suggest you line up a lift, or taxi, for the funeral. No point in taking any risks.DVLA site tells me one month before I can drive, registered this with them but it'll probably be a few days before I get a response.
