The road outside our club is being resurfaced and is closed from 20.00 each night

We have a meeting which starts at 17.30 and ends at about 22.00
I did chat with one of the workers and he said as long as we are 'inside' the road works, they have to let us get out. otherwise that can be done for entrapment
Anyone heard of this and is he correct in letting up go home that night!!

I would just park elsewhere and walk, they have made everyone necessary aware of the works, etc so if you don't take notice, well that is probably on you.

I'm sure they will let you out but at a time convenient to them, it might be 5 minutes or 30 minutes.

Most traffic orders for resurfacing state the road will be closed. The reality is that they will endeavour to keep one lane open. But at some time they will have to restrict access both to and from some properties and or side roads.

As resurfacing work rarely happens on a whim, perhaps you could have rescheduled/relocated your meeting.

How things are at the moment, you should consider yourselves lucky they are resurfacing the road.

If you talk to the people on the ground, you can work around.
Can you help them to help you?
Most meetings can be moved in time and/or space.
Most roadworks have some slack for 'eventualities'.

We all want to get roads fixed and we all want to do other stuff.
