Daughter's about to take her test. I bought her a car, did it up & left it Sorned on the drive whlle she learnt with an instructor. The MoT expired in February. Assuming she passes, what am I required to do to get the car MOT'd?

As I understand it, the car can't be taxed without an MOT but can be driven legally to & back from an MOT test without tax, provided it is insured. Is that correct?

You can drive it to a pre-booked MOT (and back again as long as it did not get a "Dangerous" strike)

As long as it is insured.

But how far can you drive, and is your insurance valid?

In this case, about half a mile each way & our handy mot tester mate will take it to work & drop it back again. Thanks boys, appreciate the confirmation.

So you’re not driving to a MOT, you’re driving to your friend’s house? JAIL
