I bought some headphones off Amazon. One has stopped charging. They are just over 3 months old.

I want to use my consumer rights but it looks like Amazon doesn't get involved and I have contacted the Chinese seller, but no response. Surely as Amazon,.list the items they are the ones to sort this issue?

Were they sold by Amazon, or fulfilled by Amazon or just bought from Amazon Market Place? This determines who your contract is with.

What happens when you go to your orders - is there an option to return the item? If so, just follow the process, Shirley?

And if the seller fights it, just escalate up to Amazon. Just done this with a tarp that went crispy in the sun, the seller tried to point to a review that said they're awful and go crispy in the sun biggrin

If you like them, just order another set and use that order to return the faulty units.

Stop buying cheap Chinese tat off Amazon marketplace and you won't have these issues.

no seems like amazon cleans their hands but from my consumer point of view it is their storefront. i will probably just issue small claims against them.

So it was Amazon Marketplace then (i.e. ebay type tat bazaar with the same level of consumer protection)?

I have a £200 set of headphones that failed after 18 months (well, battery now lasts less than £30). Supplied by Amazon, but they’re still refusing to offer any resolution - to the point they’re actively now ignoring any communication from me, assuming I’ll give up and go away (which to be fair, I probably will). Their customer service is not the customer service of old, that’s for sure..

18 months?

How long is the guarentee on them?

Sony warranty is 1 year - I’d argue that a £200 set of headphones should last longer than that (I meant to write 30 mins, not £30!).

Sony are well aware of the issue - also have no interest in resolving.

Ah fair.

But as with most thing nowadays, customer service is slowly dropping to the bottom of the pile regardless of make or how much.

i am not expert, but i just bought them off amazon. I never realized, even though they list them, sell them, dispatch them, it is nothing to do with them.
