No win no fee recommendations
Discussion
My mother-in-law othering got hit and dragged along by a delivery van while doing a speedy turn around. 17 broken bones later
Happened around 4 months ago and she's not long home. she was fairly agile before riding a bike daily, unofficial gardening work around the village but she'll never go back to full recovery.
We could wait and see how her recovery goes over the next few years but she's 75 so may not have that option and could do with the money now tbh as things like shopping are out and shes rural so will need regular taxis.
Any recommendations ? some offer no deductions but don't want to end up being offered a deal which then we have to pay as not going to court. Bit of a minefield among the sharks.
Cheers

Use a proper firm of solicitors not these ambulance chasers who will skim an inordinate amount off any damages she does recover.
There are some good no win no fee solicitors out there who are very upfront about charges and stick to them without the small print add on surpises that some seem to drag out in the event of a case going to court which is quite rare where comparatively small amounts are involved, plus of course no win, no fee cases by design tend to be pretty much open and shut which is why they take on the risk. The secret is to get everything laid out in writing as to what they will deduct before you instuct them.I personally know 2 people who used Rapid (who I believe are now part of Hudgells as mentioned above) They both had very good results (both motorcycle accidents) one was a low 5 figure settlement and the other nearly 6 figures, but a reasonably quick and painless process and didn't pay a penny more than agreed even though the larger of them became a bit protracted and was literally settled in the court lobby
Check the injured party’s household insurance. It might contain legal cover that can be used. If that’s the case you won’t need to use a no-win no fee arrangement.
No win no fee comes in for a lot of criticism - some of it justified but a lot of it isn’t.
Put yourself in the solicitor’s position - imagine working and potentially not being paid. The “uplift” is designed to reflect this risk but in reality it doesn’t. I think the vast majority of lawyers would much rather work on their ordinary rates and be paid as normal with no risk.
