I’m with MoreThan doesn’t say in my policy but I’m fully comp so is the other driver whose car i need to drive
He can name me on his policy for the day is that enough? Do I need to do anything ?
What's being "fully comp" got to do with it? If your policy doesn't say you are covered to drive other cars then you aren't & even if it says you are you might find it's Third Party only cover. If he can cover your for the day on a comprehensive basis then that is probably the best way to go.He can name me on his policy for the day is that enough? Do I need to do anything ?

Twig is right, and even if you do have DOC cover it is usually Third Party Only.
Getting yourself added to the Comp policy on the other car would be the safest option.
Well it’s my father and third party is fine so if he does that (he thinks he can) I don’t need to do anything?Getting yourself added to the Comp policy on the other car would be the safest option.

I have both car & bike insurance, both of which allow me to drive other vehicles with owner's permission but 3rd party cover only. Which one to use while driving my dad's car??
Have you checked the small print? My car & bike policies specifically limit other vehicle cover to either cars or bikes respectively. andrebar said:
