I posted on here a couple of weeks ago about being caught on the M62 at J27 doing 84. Completed the paperwork and got the response this morning offering a speed awareness course or 3 points. I already did a SAC in June last year, are these not 1 every 3 years as I always thought they were? I read through the whole letter and there is no small print saying I can’t do it if I’ve done one in the last 3 years. They were in different police regions but I wouldn’t have thought that made a difference

There used to be (not sure of the current status) several police forces not part of the national scheme - Wales & Northampton IIRC and maybe others.

Was you last course in the same area ?

Either way, I'd just do the course.

So both offences were on Motorways - SP50?

Baffled.

Unless one was in a motorway NSL (NSAC) and the other in a motorway variable limit (NMAC) ?

^ Proof that the SAC didn't work, so why bother with another one?

Discretion is the better part of valour.

Keep mouth shut in case the authorities have made a mistake and decide to award 3 points and a fine instead.

Trust me, no one working for the police is trawling PH looking for people who may be offered two courses within three years.

I thought it was all the rage for plod to be trawling the internet? At least that's what the Daily Mail told me.

If someone in the police were really bothered enough to do the detective work to link this account to me in order to give me the 3 points and fine I was expecting anyway I'd admire their effort. I'd imagine/hope they have better things to do. I'm not exactly getting away with the crime of the century.

My understanding was it’s one per force within three years, but if you were in a different region then take it.

Well my comment obviously hit a nerve hehe

Personally I would keep quiet. Better not to tempt fate (and all that stuff). But it's a free world...
