I guess this has been asked before but here goes anyway. A505 towards Duxford, flashed twice by camera on otherside of road facing me. There are markings on both sides of road but the camera is definitely not a Truvelo and looks like a bog standard Gatso. Can I expect the dreaded NIP?

I think these are dummy radar units without the camera. They are not as well tuned as they only have to give you a warning. Ive had them going off in rain as well.

Forward facing should not be set to flash as this could be dangerous , Are you sure there was not a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction which could have been the offender.

It's probably a camera flashing at nothing.. they seem to do that quite a lot when broken.. which is always good for using up the film

Yes, a forward-facing Gatso on the other side of the road can get you; just ask my girlfriend, or check out this topic:

Slightly off topic, but a biker mate of mine took advantage of this. A bunch of them went back and forward through this camera, and used up all the film, result. A few interesting pics i imagine.

There are quite a few forward facing camera's in the Cambridgeshire area, there is a nice straight bit of road on the way up to Peterborough which the bikers love as they don't have front numberplates!

I don't honestly see the point!
