Mine too...

Couldn't be any worse the the current bunch who seem to be getting funded by WS Atkins (the local highways contractor) as long as they introduce at least 5 very expensive but totally ineffectual schemes each year

Have you noticed that practically all newly elected Mayors are Independents.. 3 more last night..

it seems that in the vast majority of palces getting a new Mayor, the knee-jerk 'vote for an independent' reaction is one that can be capitalised on..

Lookat the Monkey Bloke and RoboCop - power might not be as elusuive as we think.. we just have to ride the wave of dissatisfaction with the establishment...

They had a spokesman on PM on Radio 4 last night - he was up against a Labour backbencher spouting the 'speed kills, slow everyone down' nonsense she'd been told by the party to come out with.
Every question he asked, was met with the same response 'yes, but speed kills and must be reduced' - even the BBC interviewer got sick of her and told her to answer the questions she was being asked.

Needless to say, she couldn't.

In certain circumstances this is the right aproach. The birth of new parties and the varying of political stances gives us some opportunities.

In places where they vote labour or conservative even if Atilla the Hun were the candidate the answer is to join and swamp the commitee to gain control of the candidacy. Some smellies and god botherers have done this succesfully in various locations.

That way we could capture the lot and have a non PC society with a minimum speed limit only Oh and Carzee if you get the top job, can I get to sort out Darling and dunwoody, somewhere dark with just me, them and a baseball bat?

Good news for us then.

The car drivers are by far the majority of the population, and we almost to a man/woman speed at least some of the time (can't help it with the speed limits dropping so fast) so surely as we live in a Democracy (take note Pres Blair - ur time is up) we should be able to get the speed limits changed to Appropriate limits and get some money spent on educating people to look at the road when they are driving, unlike the lady who nearly drove into me yesterday on a straight road (400 yds from a school) cause her hair was more important.

Count me in - oh yes!
First act , ban the bloody school run. I bet the silly bint that nearly hit Jason F was on the run. Also ban any trips of under a mile aka school run unless drivers are disabled.
Ban all HGV's from the roads between 7.30am - 9am and 4.30pm - 6.30pm , now't against most lorry drivers - they just take up so much space , after all most companies now operate a 24 hour schedule and watch the traffic floooow.
Enough already.

Hurrah!

Yes, revolution, of a sort IS coming...

We are the majority so why have we taken it for so long? The wheel is creaking into rotation.

Just think; in several years time we'll be able to max our Tivs, Pork lives and 'rarris without fear of incrimination.

Watch out Grandma, here comes a lawn mower - and it's gonna rip your face clean orf!

Yeehaaargh!

You'll be able to do this when there are no more Traffic cars out there. Estimated time to "Plodlessness": one year, if hte current rate of attrition continues.

According to the AA, 70% of their members are in favour of speed cameras.

So when you say you're in the majority, exactly which majority is that?
