Good thread Ted.

Difficult to say conclusivly, but I believe plod are on the ball about recognising when a jammer screws their machine.

I have heard that only one make of jammer does not set off the "jammer warning" mode on their laser guns and that on some makes the diodes can overheat quickly and it shuts down.
Anyone else know more??

I what way are they illegal then? Upsetting the revenue cart? Or interfering with the police doing their legal bit or both?

I would be interested to know if anyone has been prosecuted as I use my Jammer but thought there wasnt a case yet.

The prosecution cannot be for using the laser jammer, AFAIK there is no law about emitting light. However, interfering in the duties of the police may stick (or something similar)

I think it might be 'perverting the course of justice', which sounds a damn sight more serious than speeding...

I beleive my Blinder M10 Twin gives off an error signal not a Jam signal to the lasor gun. If you then turn it off after the first hit so they get a second hit but this time a reading how are they going to say you were using the jammer? (im sure they will) but they must get errors from time to time in normal use of the laser gun.

I have been hit about 3/4 time in the last 3 years and was not stopped or followed. 2 out of the 3 times I was a fair wack over the limit but under 100.

FWIW I think it was obstructing an officer in the execution of his/her duty.

Dont know what the outcome was.

I think the Snooper SLD920 Blinder does not bring up the "jamming" indicator on the guns.

The best idea is once hit by a laser signal, slow down and turn it off. That was Plodaroonie gets a reading from his gun and is a happy chappy.

That sounds like exactly the right approach soulpatch. I take it the device tells you as soon as it is hit?

Surely, once a hit is registered you cannot switch off quick enough to prevent multiple error readings, or slow down much before the policeman gets a real reading.

Depends how fast you drive. If you are going to do 150 in a 70 or somthing then you are bound to get court.

If you are doing a sedate 80-90 in a 70 then you will have time. The police guns just wont be able to get a reading for this time. you have about 5-7 seconds to slow down normally as they try and target you from a long distance.

Slow down first then switch the jammer off , unless the copper is confident and on the ball he needs to reset the unit and retry.

So how good are your brakes in a couple of seconds 20 to 30 mph off your speed , should go most way to being within the limit.
