Lengthy paper (32 pages) but worth a read.

In rant mode

Fascinating reading. The war against motorists is being stepped up another notch.

Car speed limiters, more speed restrictions, more road restrictions, harsher sentences for speeding, media propaganda (sorry edukashun), etc. etc.

Of course it's all in a good cause (apparently 1000 to 2000 more people will be saved each year

Not sure how that works though, 7% of accidents are caused by speeding i.e 245. (7% of 3500)
245 - 1000 =
Oh i see, it's been fiddled to 30%, = 50 lives saved.
and if every accident is caused by speeding we're really cooking!

Nothing to do with speed cam/insurance taxes of course.

Deaths in UK each year:
1. Tobacco related 120,000
2. Alcohol related 35,000
3. Speeding Deaths 245 (7% of 3500)

Don't hear anything being done about tobacco or drink deaths. (I drink and smoke ).

Of course tax revenue would drop massively if bliar started handing out patches , Zyban etc for smokers or free places at clinics for alcoholics.

and while everyone's looking out for the cams, crime increases, NHS worsens, Education standards drop further, transport stops, pensions dry up and manufactuing base disappears....

Might as well live in mud huts now

Well, if this carries on once I qualify I'll just emigrate, along with quite a few sensible people. Leave this place to the asylum seekers and looney f***ers who think we ought to pay to right every wrong done in the world.

Told you lot before, buy a bike before it is too late.

Actually, if Brunstrom (Brainstorm??!) has his way, there will be no cops on duty, only cameras. Then we can all "de-plate" and do whatever...

Waylander, top rant We must encourage the smellies to achieve a critical mass. When Mr £40k is banned and wifey is forced to buy her clothes from Asda the stinkey smellies will get theirs. We need this wave of anti car shite to deprive middle class children in sufficent numbers to get the womens movement behind squashing it so the green BBC will kick B liar in the nuts. We can rant on here all day and it is useful to a point, but it is what we say out there in polite conversation that matters.

Ask yourselves, does Mrs Surrey coffee morning really want to get 2 kids up at 6 because they have to drive daddy to work before the school run? Will Mrs stroppy cow from Wigan really vote lib dem or new tosser (labour) if Mr Stroppycow is reduced to working in the petrol station cos he is banned? Bearing in mind when Mori do a poll in the pedestrian area every Wednesday, if Gladys neverdrivenacarinmylife is outnumbered the result will be BLIAR YOU CUNT STOP BOLLOXING UP MY LIFESTYLE OR YOUR OUT ON YOUR ARSE [B/] just a thought.

Do Mori polls in your area often include
"
BLIAR YOU CUNT STOP BOLLOXING UP MY LIFESTYLE OR YOUR OUT ON YOUR ARSE
"
as one of the options? fantastic idea, mind...

We are committed to the Ten Year Plan target of trebling the number of journeys made by bicycle by 2010.

Anyone know why? I used to ride quite a lot - then I passed my driving test, and I've not ridden a bit since. I shudder to think what measures might be taken to ensure this target is hit...

Urban Road Hierarchy? Intelligent Speed Adaptation?

The writing is on the road for all of us to vomit upon.

Sell your Ferraris; dump that Tiv; forget the Porsche and cry over your Ultima.

These fascists are doing what Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin could only have have jerked off over in their wettest fantasies.

One only has to read between the lines to see the sheer audacity of the most brazen control freakery at work: these buggers HATE you and I. The Freudian gaffs abound; it's a blueprint for a dogma that makes it quite acceptable to propose and instigate anything to clobber all and everyone who isn't a firking commie gimp.

Things that struck me as staggering include the following:

1 - Comparing kiddie fatalities here with other European countries. No sh1t, Sherlock! The reason is 'cos there's too bloody many soddin' people here!!!

2 - Ethnic minorities are more at risk of road accidents for 'reasons not understood.' WHAT? Stupid, cretinous, PC-obsessed MFers to the last; oh- my-God, this is such unbelievable, grotesque propoganda! How do they get away with it?

3 - Making pedestrian advice more accessible for those of 'low literacy.' Oh, spiffing! You total, utter quangoid-brained maggots.

4 - Indeed, let's waste more money on educating pedestrians. Like you don't know the look right, look left bit? Let's spend £10m over 5 years in 'deprived areas' to avoid 'straining teachers.' Ok, you schmucks, why not let the teachers do their thing without all the bullsh1t constraints you tossers spewed out in the first place which would ordinarily allow that kind of training in the first sodding instance? Throw money at any problem; who gives a sh1t, these charlatans won't be paying, will they?

Now, in fairness, it does say that speed camera placement shouldn't necessarily be in places that just 'look' like they could be accident blackspots but this semblance of balance and reason is soon lost as you plough on.

It's an interesting insight into the mindset of the unnaccountable, bottom inspecting mandarin; how he, or maybe she, has a social agenda all mapped out: it involves the socio-economic crucifixation of all those not beholden to the state bossom in order that none - bar a 'select few' - can survive without it.

But like all socialist imbeciles, their fundamental error is in judging that something for nothing is a practical concept; that the state can prevail ad infinitum without a motivated, creative, private sector generating the means by which all can, at least theoretically, live and prosper.

This is one of the most terrifying documents I have ever read. It basically spells the end of democracy and is something of a potential tinderbox for civil war.

The unelected bureaucrats who come up with it are some of the most dangerous people within our society.

Be ready.
